Nick Fury & Maria Hill to Cameo on Agents of SHIELD

by Stephen Huynh

Since the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, everyone’s been pretty much scrambling for any bits of information on what’s next for our favorite heroes. Just to quickly recap, Nick Fury burned his possessions and ditched the iconic eye patch for some sweet shades while Maria Hill interviewed for a job at STARK Industries. But, without having to wait too long, actors Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders have been confirmed to make cameo appearances in the remaining episodes of Agents of SHIELD. These cameos will mark the second time both of these characters will have appeared on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

Last week, Vulture caught up with Samuel L. Jackson at the premiere of his wife’s Broadway play, where they were able to ask the actor if he’d be filming another cameo for the show. Jackson responded,I did! Last week! I just shot the end-of-the-season show.” When pressed for more details, Jackson responded “You’re trying to get me fired and killed! I don’t talk about Marvel’s business. None of us do.”

Today. TVLine just reported that Cobie Smulders will be reprising her role as Maria Hill on Agents of SHIELD on Tuesday, April 29th. In what capacity? Who knows. Perhaps Maria Hill got the job working with STARK and Coulson tries to recruit her for his team. Personally, I’d love to see that myself. In addition, according to TVLine, for the fans that have been begging to see a Coulson/Hill team-up, you’re going to get it and then some.

What’s my guess on how exactly will Nick Fury and Maria Hill be integrated into the show? Left with no missions or objectives, Coulson (and team) go on a hunt to find Fury but have no other leads but to first track down his ex-second-in-command, Maria Hill. The team then track Hill to a STARK industries building where in actuality, Hill’s been working undercover all along to flush out HYDRA spies potentially within the company. Before Coulson can get any information from Hill, the team is attacked by HYDRA agents. The episode would then leave way for Coulson to Fury’s location in order to find the man that’s responsible for his trip to T.A.H.I.T.I.
But then again, this is just speculation and my random ramblings. Let me know what you think in the comments down below.
