Fantastic Four or Fantastic Flop?

by Don Pham

It looks like it’s back to the drawing board on this Fantastic Franchise, or at least that’s the word on the streets! Rumors stated that Fox is dumping director John Trank and the script by Simon Kinberg and is actively looking for Fantastic Four replacements (the same goes for the entire cast).

Although these rumors may be going around, multiple tweets have stated that the Fantastic Four movie will continue onward.

So is this Fantastic Four reboot for real or nothing but a fantasy? A part of me wishes for a re-reboot. If you read my last post, you would know I’m not too fond of their choice in cast members. As for the script, I have no idea how it will turn out. Even so, I may be getting excited over nothing as the rumors appear to be a hoax.

But if this cancellation were true, it would put Fox’s rights to Fantastic Four under pressure. If production doesn’t pick up soon enough, Marvel Studios may earn back the rights to this franchise; but Fox has said before that they are willing to make a direct-to-DVD movie in order to keep their Fantastic Four rights.

So it looks like we’re back to square one, or maybe not. If you’re an optimist might be a good thing for them to start over. Hopefully they will pick actors with a more mature nature.
