HOUSTON, TX – December 24, 2019 – HIDIVE announced today that it acquired streaming rights to battle royale anime Darwin’s Game, produced by studio Nexus (Chivalry of a Failed Knight), for audiences in the United States and Canada. The series streams on HIDIVE beginning Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 17:00 UTC with new episodes following on Sundays at the same time.
When Kaname Sudo accepts his best friend’s invitation to play a mysterious mobile game, he never suspects he’ll be lured into “Darwin’s Game,” a fiendish battle royale where killing your opponent puts blood on your hands and cold, hard cash in your bank account. Can Kaname escape this insane scenario, or will he be an unwilling participant of the game forevermore?
Yoshinobu Tokumoto (episode director WataMote: No Matter How I Look At It, It’s You Guys’ Fault I’m Not Popular!) will direct the series, which stars Yusuke Kobayashi (GATE) as Kaname Sudo and Reina Ueda (Land of the Lustrous) as Shuka Karino. Kenichiro Suehiro (Girls’ Last Tour) provides the series’ music.
