Earlier this month, DORKAHOLICS had the honor and pleasure of speaking with actor-slash-voice-actor-slash-dancer Dante Basco, best known to our dorks for his roles as Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender, the titular character of Disney’s American Dragon: Jake Long, and Rufio in Hook (1991).

Dante shared with us what is like being an Asian-American with an early career spanning from the 90s working in present-day Hollywood, his plans and aspirations for the future, the heroes and role models he had growing up, and some of his fellow Asian-Americans artists that he has seen leading the way for better representation and diversity in mainstream art.
