LA Comic Con: 2022 Schedule Released

Los Angeles celebrates all that is great about comics, gaming, sci-fi, and pop culture once again this year at the LA Comic Con, from December 2 to 4. This year’s event is expected to be the largest one in the show’s history with more than 140,000 fans in attendance, a massive roster of A-list talent, and over 800 artists and vendors.

Special celebrity guests who will be at the event include Simu Liu [Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings], Elijah Wood [Lord of the Rings], Giancarlo Esposito [Breaking Bad], William Shatner [Star Trek: The Original Series], Ming-Na Wen [The Mandalorian], Amy Jo Johnson [Mighty Morphin Power Rangers], Steve Burns [Blue’s Clues & You], the cast of The Boys, The Umbrella Academy and many others among others.

Main Stage Panels

Up on the main stage, panels include Jimmy Neutron 20th Anniversary & Live Script Reading, Lord of The Rings, The Boys, The Mandalorian, The Sandlot, The Umbrella Academy and additional panels including but not limited to Simu Liu, Tom Kenny, LeVar Burton, Steve Burns, Amy Jo Johnson.

Gaming and Anime Featured in West Hall

LA Comic Con is taking over the Los Angeles Convention Center’s West Hall where an experience focused on gaming, esports, and anime will be produced by Subnation. The 147,000 square-foot venue will provide ticket holders with access to 3 main areas: the Gaming Stage, the Stream Studio, and the Gaming Freeplay Area. Expect panels, cosplay meetups, meet & greets with talent, live game demos, a collegiate League of Legends esports tournament, and more!

The 7th Annual National Cosplay Championship

Cosplayers will have the opportunity to compete for $30,000 in cash and other prizes at the 7th Annual National Cosplay Championship, with 3 different categories to participate in: Master, Journeyman, Novice. All genres welcome, including characters across all genres as well as original creations.

For comparison, last year’s show had nearly 95,000 fans. If social distancing and quarantine had an adverse effect on in-person events, then that is no longer the case with the immense growth we’re witnessing.
