Casting for Lex Luthor and Alfred in “Man of Steel” Sequel Completed

by Neil Bui

Get ready for the jokes people. “Luthor made Facebook” is very well a future possibility for us. It was just announced that Jesse EisenbergĀ (“The Social Network) has been cast as the latest incarnation of Lex Luthor in the untitled “Man of Steel” sequel.

In addition, Jeremy Irons (“The Borgias”) will also be joining the cast as Alfred. Personally, I couldn’t recognize Mr. Irons from anything I’ve watched-perhaps due to my youth and inexperience. But after a quick visit to his Wikipedia page, I was reminded of his amazing work from “The Lion King” and “Eragon!” Also, to my pleasant surprise, I found out that he’s British! Awesome, that’s the most important requirement for any portrayal of Batman’s butler in my book.

Honestly, I’m split on my opinion for these recent casting decision. Based off Eisenberg’s performance in “The Social Network,” I could argue he nails the antisocial genius prodigy type almost to a tee. However, at the same time, can he really convince me (and the world) that he has the largest stick up his butt and nothing but jealousy for Ā Superman?

Jeremy Irons on the other hand, I applaud thee Warner Bros. Pictures. Mr.Irons has been with me since I was a mere boy then, just as Alfred has been there for Batman since he was a Batboy, except for me, he was Scar.

Batman vs. Superman is slated to arrive May 6th, 2016. Stick with Dorkaholics for up-to-the-minute info on the film as more news develops. We’re here for you.
