If you’re a huge Pokémon fan, then this post is going to be old news, but being the avid fan that I am, I can’t help but talk about it.
Pokémon just revealed their 20th anniversary ‘Train On’ Super Bowl commercial and it is at the very least, nothing short of amazing.
I really enjoyed how they included large crowds in pretty much almost every scene but focused on the kids (and of course the football players because it is a Super Bowl commercial after all, but I digress). Reminding us all that while, yes, we as adults can play the Pokémon game, it’s meant for and marketed towards kids. Screw you Nintendo, I will play as much Pokémon as I want regardless if you’re marketing it towards me or not. Aside from the obvious target marketing going on, I love, love, love this commercial. It’s new yet nostalgic and strikes a sense of inspiration that we can achieve whatever it is that we dream of, as long as we ‘train on.’ It also has a crap ton of Easter eggs hidden throughout the commercial which just adds to the hype for a fan boy like me.
