International cosplayer Ely Cosplay is confirmed to appear and headline the event. Ely is one of the top 25 cosplayers on WorldCosplay with over 270,000 followers on social media. Her rise to fame in Taiwan and East Asia is her amazing portrayal of Sakura from the Touhou series.

Also in attendance are actors/voice actors Gaku Space and Christian Howard. Gaku Space is best known for portraying Genji in the game “Overwatch” and Gouki in the “Street Fighter” game series. Christian Howard is recognizable fo his role as Ken Masters in “Street Fighter.”

Guest of Honor is Danny Choo, culture blogger known for his company Mirai Inc. and its mascot Mirai Suenaga. He is the host of the Japanese TV show Culture Japan where he travels through the land of the rising sun teaching the audience about Japanese culture. Go figure.

You can expect an Artists’ Alley with purchasable works, handmade vendor goods, and entertainment including panels, music performances, fashion runway shoes, and an itasha car show by some of the anime community’s biggest influencers.

About the Asian American Expo and ANIME IMPULSE

Founded in 1982 as a local community gathering event – the Asian American Expo has expanded to become the must attend event every January. Next year will mark the 35th annual Asian American Expo, ushing in a prosperous year of the Monkey. Bringing together people of all different cultural backgrounds, the Asian American Expo has established itself as a melding ground of all concepts.
