Another year and another Super Bowl has come and gone. And for the Dorkaholics team, it’s less about the sport being played and more about the previews into this year’s upcoming films.
- Creed III
Creed III comes out March 3 and the extended spot shown during the Super Bowl teases the explosive competition between Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors as former childhood friends have now become arch rivals.
- AIR
AIR drops April 5. The new ad spot really paints the picture of the doubt and uncertainty that Matt Damon’s Sonny Vaccaro faced when trying to build a shoeline around a single rookie player by the name of Michael Jordan.
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be in theaters May 3. This new trailer gives each member of the Guardians an opportunity to discuss what the film is and what the overall trilogy has been about.
- Fast X
Fast X has a release date of May 19. The Super Bowl Spot includes new footage outside of the latest trailer, featuring a Michael Bay-level explosion on a dam.
- Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Transformers: Rise of the Beast rolls out into theaters on June 9. The new clip from the Super Bowl was equal parts movie preview, equal parts Porsche ad via Mirage the Autobot voiced by Pete Davidson. Not much beast outside of a brief look at Optimus Primal which was previously shown in a past trailer. Nice to see more Anthony Ramos though (In The Heights).
- The Flash
The Flash comes out the week after Transformers on June 16. This Super Bowl marked the debut of the first official trailer for the film just 4 months before its release. It pretty much guaranteed the Flashpoint-esque plotline that will introduce this quilted cast of new and old faces to DC films, including Michael Keaton’s return as Batman and the first appearance of Sasha Calle as Kara Zor-El.
- Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Two weeks later, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny swings into theaters on June 30. This new TV spot was a 30-second tease with a preview of Indy confirming that Nazis are Nazis before striking. In today’s modern world, it’s a good practice.
