The new fall drama coming to NBC, The Irrational, has new photos from the pilot airing this fall. The series stars Jesse L. Martin (The Flash) as professor of behavioral science Alec Mercer in this fresh take on the procedural genre as he shares his insights on major cases.
The Irrational is based on the novel “Predictably Irrational” by Dan Ariely, who will be serving as a consultant. The book challenges readers’ assumption about making decisions based on rational thought, and based on the first chapter that I’ve finished listening to in an audiobook format, my understanding of relativity and decoy effects has grown. I’m looking forward to seeing these concepts adapted for a television format.
The Irrational premieres on NBC Monday, September 25 at 10pm.
Synopsis: A new spin on the procedural genre, The Irrational follows world-renowned professor of behavioral science Alec Mercer (Jesse L. Martin) as he lends his unique expertise on an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement and corporations. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding psychology and human behavior lead him and the team on a series of intense, unexpected journeys to solve illogical puzzles and perplexing mysteries.
