  1. Zero Day – Official Trailer

Zero Day stars Robert De Niro as a former U.S. President now heading a commission responding to a terrorist attack in a manner that reminds me of the Patriot Act as they are on a national manhunt for anyone who has aided or abetted the cyber attack that resulted in over 4000 lost lives. However, with this angle on cyber attacks and technology, as well as misinformation, it feels like a story set in modern times with the circumstances of a post 9/11 world for the U.S.

Release Date: On Netflix on February 20, 2025

  1. Opus – Official Trailer

I’m not sure how convinced I am that John Malkovich can portray a legendary pop star, but I’m definitely feeling the eerie cult his character has built around his larger than life personality. The cult horror elements of Opus reminds me of Get Out, especially with the blink and you’ll miss it running moment in the trailer, but I’m sure the film will still break new ground as another A24 horror twist.

Release Date: In theaters on March 14, 2025
