Pop culture is a never-ending world of updates, teases, trailers, and hopefully releases. What’s New Wednesday is Dorkaholics’ way to keep us all up to date with what’s new across comics, tv, film, games, and more! This week, the focus is on trailers for Napoleon, Eileen, The Zone of Interest, and Ferrari.
- Napoleon: Official Trailer #2
Leave it to Joaquin Phoenix to fully step into the role of one of history’s most famous military leaders. With Joker in the back of my mind, it feels strangely more appropriate to root Phoenix in this role as his character claims to be following in the footsteps of Alexander the Great and Caesar.
Release Date: In theaters on November 22, 2023
Synopsis: Napoleon is a spectacle-filled action epic that details the checkered rise and fall of the iconic French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, played by Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix. Against a stunning backdrop of large-scale filmmaking orchestrated by legendary director Ridley Scott, the film captures Bonaparte’s relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his one true love, Josephine, showcasing his visionary military and political tactics against some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed.
- Eileen: Official Trailer
The former Catwoman takes a page from Harley Quinn as Anne Hatheway plays prison psychologist Rebecca in the upcoming film Eileen, directed by William Oldroyd who directed Lady Macbeth.
Release Date: In theaters on December 1, 2023
Synopsis: Based on the book of the same name by bestselling author, Ottessa Moshfegh. Set during a bitter 1964 Massachusetts winter, young secretary Eileen (Thomasin McKenzie) becomes enchanted by Rebecca (Anne Hathaway), the glamorous new counselor at the prison where she works. Their budding friendship takes a twisted turn when Rebecca reveals a dark secret — throwing Eileen onto a sinister path.
- The Zone of Interest: Official Trailer
The trailer for The Zone of Interest is able to instill curiosity without revealing too much about the film itself. I’m intrigued about the film’s release later this year, especially with that skin-crawling sensation that the trailer is able to impart.
Release Date: In theaters December 15, 2023
Synopsis: The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp.
- Ferrari: Official Trailer
Adam Driver feels completely transformed at first glance in his latest role as Enzo Ferrari in this film about the Italian automobile founder.

Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for their one son.
