The world of pop culture is a never ending world of updates, teases, trailers, and hopefully releases. This week, the focus is on the upcoming spinoff to The Boys, Gen V, out later this year.

In the latest season of The Boys, it was revealed that babies around the world are growing up with superpowers as a result of being exposed to Compound V. So it’s only natural to wonder what happens to these children as they grow up. This is where Gen V comes in, as the series will focus on students at a college for superheroes. On Twitter, the series’ account announced that the premiere would be sometime during this year (between now and Dec 31), a vague yet appropriately humorous announcement inline with the show’s diabolical sense of humor.

Synopsis: Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.
