What’s New Wednesday is Dorkaholics’ way to keep us all up to date with what’s new across comics, tv, film, games, and more! This week, the focus is on Yu Yu Hakusho, The Zone of Interest, Gyeongseong Creature, and Kung Fu Panda 4.

  1. Yu Yu Hakusho: Official Trailer

The official trailer for the live action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho by Netflix really shows the beloved anime fans in the 90s will remember, as now brought to life through not only casting but also the visual effects.

Synopsis: After a selfless act costs him his life, teen delinquent Yusuke Urameshi is chosen as a Spirit Detective to investigate cases involving rogue yokai.

  1. The Zone of Interest: Second Trailer

The second trailer for The Zone of Interest shows a bit more of what this seemingly peaceful life of a commandant’s family next to the Auschwitz concentration camp entails. The green is merely the foreground while the walls in the background are the only barriers shielding the horrors and atrocious acts.

Release Date: In theaters on December 15, 2023

  1. Gyeongseong Creature: Trailer

Seo-joon Park (Itaewon Class, Concrete Utopia, The Marvels) and So-hee Han (My Name) star in this upcoming Korean series featuring horrific creatures that may remind you of the monsters from Sweet Home.

Release Date: On Netflix on December 22, 2023

  1. Kung Fu Panda 4: Trailer #1

The trailer for the upcoming Kung Fu Panda 4 is out now and reveals a new faces/voices joining the cast, including Viola Davis (Air) as the wicked sorceress Chameleon, Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians) as the quick-witted thief Zhen, and Ke Huy Quan (Loki, Everything Everywhere All At Once) as the leader of the Den of Thieves, Han.

Release Date: In theaters on March 8, 2024

Synopsis: After three death-defying adventures defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po, the Dragon Warrior (Golden Globe nominee Jack Black), is called upon by destiny to … give it a rest already. More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace.

That poses a couple of obvious problems. First, Po knows as much about spiritual leadership as he does about the paleo diet, and second, he needs to quickly find and train a new Dragon Warrior before he can assume his new lofty position.
