Congratulations World, after 3 years of waiting, after losing Wally to forces unknown (or forces of speed), after fighting hard over the internet for a Netflix revival and Kickstarter, after watching both seasons countless times, we finally see a light at the end of the tunnel – the return of Young Justice.
Warner Bros. Animation has announced that the series is returning for a third season. Production has begun, and details such as network and premiere date will be announced later.
“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,” said Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series. “We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”
Original Young Justice producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman have both returned to the series for the new episodes. Weisman has confirmed in the past that the series was originally cancelled due to failing to meet toy sale goals with Mattel, who funded the original run’s production through a merchandise deal. Weisman also rallied the fandom together with the hashtag #KeepBingingYJ to encourage people to continue watching Young Justice to show there was a demand for such a series.
Things I’d Like to See
- Wally West has to be alive.
We saw him vanish into nothingness, but I think we all know there’s more to death when you’re a speedster. - Stephanie Brown has to become Spoiler.
What was the point of introducing her in her civilian identity, giving her voice actress credit, and plum-colored clothing if she’s not gonna suit up and join the other caped heroes from Gotham? - We’ve already seen him in other DC Animations, let’s introduce Damian Wayne to the team.
No further words needed.
